I'm currently working at Dev Technosys and facing a challenging issue in a large-scale online tutoring platform.
Our system allows students to book live sessions with tutors across different time zones. Recently, we've noticed a rare but critical issue where simultaneous booking requests occasionally bypass availability checks, resulting in double-booked tutor slots. In some cases, calendar updates are delayed across devices, causing students and tutors to see different schedules.
We've already implemented transaction locking, queue processing, cache invalidation, and real-time synchronization mechanisms, but the problem still occurs sporadically under peak traffic conditions.
