Does a Tempo Traveller have a toilet on board?

This is a practical question that matters most for long-distance overnight journeys, especially when travelling with elderly family members, young children, or medical needs. The honest answer is: standard and luxury Tempo Travellers do not come with an on-board toilet as a default feature. However, a Tempo Traveller with a toilet is available on special request and here is everything you need to know about that option.

Why most Tempo Travellers don't have toilets


Unlike coaches and long-haul Volvo buses that operate on fixed schedules with no flexibility to stop, Tempo Travellers are private group vehicles that can and routinely do- stop wherever the group needs. Highway dhaba stops, petrol pumps, and roadside facilities are available every 30 to 60 km on all major national highways from Delhi. For most groups, this makes a fixed on-board toilet unnecessary and simply adds to the vehicle cost and maintenance complexity.

Toilet-equipped Tempo Travellers- on special request

For groups with specific needs- elderly passengers with mobility limitations, very young children, medical conditions, or remote routes where highway stops are infrequent- we can arrange a Tempo Traveller with an on-board toilet facility on advance request.

• Toilet-equipped models are available in limited numbers and must be requested at the time of booking- not on the day of travel
• These vehicles cost more than standard and luxury Tempo Travellers due to the additional fitment and maintenance
• Best suited for routes where highway rest stops are sparse- such as remote Himalayan routes, Char Dham Yatra, or long overnight drives to Ladakh
• For most Delhi to Manali, Delhi to Haridwar, or Delhi to Jaipur trips- regular highway stops every 1.5 to 2 hours are more than sufficient for most passengers

Our suggestion for most groups: Communicate your stop preferences clearly with your driver before the journey begins. A good driver will plan rest stops at clean, safe locations every 1.5 to 2 hours. If any passenger has a specific medical need for more frequent stops, inform the driver in advance- this is entirely accommodated at no extra charge.
