Each mission can last anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the player's approach, and failing at any point means restarting from the beginning. While this has frustrated many, it also adds a unique intensity to the gameplay. Players must learn from mistakes and refine their tactics with each playthrough. The stakes feel higher, and the reward for completing a mission without errors is significantly more satisfying. Another impressive feature is the enemy AI behavior, which was considered quite advanced for the year 2000. Enemies react to sight and sound, follow up on suspicious activity, and communicate with one another. If one guard spots you, he might call for backup or activate an alarm. They also use cover effectively and sometimes flank your position. This level of intelligence from NPCs adds realism and pushes players to stay alert and adapt quickly.
